We are very excited to announce that Nissan has confirmed a 50th anniversary edition of the Nissan 370z Nismo for an Australian release. This is an all new replacement for the Nissan 370z which is now 12 years old. This iconic car has put a smile on many drivers faces over the years, and it will be fantastic to have a new variant in stock. Let’s take a closer look at what the 370z Nismo has to offer dedicated petrolheads.
The Nissan 370z Nismo Revealed
The reveal for the latest incarnation of the iconic 370z happened at the recent New York Motor Show. Nissan unveiled and an all new limited edition 370z to mark the 50th anniversary of their well regarded 370z sports car. Many industry insiders were hoping for total model replacement, but the anniversary edition has a lot to offer.
The Limited Edition 370z Nismo
Although there is no boost in available power, there are plenty of changes on the 370z Nismo to get excited about. The car comes in a two-tone paint scheme in either silver/black or red/silver. These livery choices are designed to pay homage to the BRE Datsun 240z that won many SCCA racing titles in the US during the 70’s.
The pillars, boot lid, and bonnet are all painted in black or red depending on the colour choice made above. This choice is then further complimented by the addition of a pair of diagonal bars positioned across the doors and a thinner highlight line running from the side of the headlights to the C-pillar. Some other interesting design choices include coloured mirror caps, 50th anniversary badging and a red accent strip on the wheel edges. Overall the effect is exciting, detailed and respectful to the original sports cars that it’s paying homage to in this design.
In the cabin, Nissan has given the 370z coupe a range of red themed appointments, such as an Alcantara steering wheel, red centre console stitches, powered adjustable four ways bucket seats, a red gear shift, a tachometer with red accents and again we have 50th anniversary badges, this time on the sill plates.
Under the Bonnet
This Nissan 370z Nismo continues with the well regarded 3.7L naturally aspirated V6 engine that generates 247 kW of power at 7,000 revs and 366 Nm of torque at 5,200 revs. This power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a six speed manual or a seven speed automatic transmission. The car sits on a set of 19” RAYS alloy wheels that are shod with Bridgestone Potenza S007 sports tyres. There are fixed performance dampers, disc brakes (355mm front and 350mm rear) with calipers (four piston front and two piston rear).
Nissan Australia has officially confirmed that this Nissan 370z Nismo 50th Anniversary Edition will be available here in dealerships sometime in 2019.
