A Quick Review of the Nissan Qashqai 2016
The Nissan Qashqai has been out for a short while and now the hype has died down we will take another quick look at what it has to offer. The Qashqai has been a great seller here, and it has performed well around the world. This car has won many awards since its introduction in 2014, and over 2,000,000 have been sold worldwide.
The Nissan Qashqai Ti:
The model that we will be looking at here is the Nissan Qashqai Ti. For the totally uninitiated, the Qashqai is designed to be the ultimate compact SUV with advanced features and futuristic styling. It is a lifestyle car that (unlike its rivals) actually has some substance underneath its head turning looks. The Qashqai Ti is seen by many reviewers and car industry insiders as the optimum mix of features vs. value for money. This car is made in the UK, where it is the 5th largest selling SUV.
Where Does the Qashqai Sit in the Nissan Range?
The Qashqai Ti is the more luxurious petrol version which has a few extra features. As the larger of the two small SUVs that Nissan currently sells (the other being the Juke), the Qashqai has a lot of equipment compare to its rivals, and it is cheaper to buy than the larger X-Trail. The major difference to take into account is that the Qashqai is a 4×2 vehicle and not a true 4×4. If you’re in the market for a real off roader, the X-Trail would be a far better option. The Qashqai is well suited to the urban environment, some light off road use on trails and visiting the beach..
Impressions and Specifications:
The Qashqai is a very safe car with a 5 star ANCAP safety rating, six airbags, and advanced crash warning technology. The interior is classy with plenty of clever touches for storage and comfort. The driving position is elevated giving a good view of the road ahead, there is plenty of space up front and also in the rear. There are some outstanding features at this price point, such as cruise control, dual climate control, a digital centre dash display, a reversing camera, a leather wrapped steering wheel and Bluetooth connectivity.
The Qashqai Ti adds a few lovely extras, such as: a parking assistance system, partial leather trim in the cabin, a sunroof, a powered adjustable driving seat, heated front seats, a 7” infotainment touchscreen, SatNav, automatic windscreen wipers and 19” aluminium alloy wheels shod with wide low profile tyres. There are also two additional safety features on the Ti version, blind spot warning, and lane departure warning.
