The 2018 Nissan 370Z Coupe Heritage Edition Revealed
The new Nissan 370Z coupe has received a heritage edition that will be released in 2018. The model was revealed at the recent New York Motor Show, and it’s part of a significant update. This car will feature enhancements that are part of the 2018 model update in the US. Let’s take a look at some of the details that have been released.
Why a Heritage Edition?
The Nissan 370Z Heritage Edition is being released to honour the 50th anniversary of the Nissan Z series sports car. The Z car was in production from 1969 right up until 2000 and was a very popular model in Japan and all around the world. In fact, the anniversary is not technically due until 2019, but Nissan has decided to start their celebrations earlier.
What Kind of Enhancements Have Been Made?
The 370Z Heritage Edition is based on the entry level Nissan 370Z coupe that is offered in the US market. There are two colours available; Magnetic Black and Chicane Yellow, but the colour go further than being skin deep. Both of these colours come with their own unique appointments and associated colour schemes. The Magnetic Black version has glossy silver external graphics and an interior that has yellow accented trim. The Chicane Yellow model has gloss black graphics, black mirrors, and yellow trim highlights.
There are other significant inclusions for this release will also be seen on the 2018 Nissan 370Z. The manual models will receive a high performance clutch that has been designed for this release by Exedy. There are revised headlights, and the tail lights have all new treatments. Under the bonnet, we have the 3.7 litre V6 powerplant that generates 245kW of power and 363 Nm of torque that we are already familiar with. This power is sent to the rear wheel drive via a seven speed automatic or a six speed manual transmission
Availability in Australia?
Following the New York Motor Show, Nissan began to understandably receive questions regarding availability in other parts of the world. At the moment the Nissan 370Z Heritage Edition seems to be scheduled only for a 2018 release in the US. This seems to be an unlikely scenario, Nissan surely would mark the 50th year anniversary of the Z car release in Japan at least? It may then follow that other parts of the world could receive this car as a limited release. Stay tuned for more detailed information.
