The 2017 Nissan Pathfinder Update
The Nissan Pathfinder is one of the most popular choices available for a seven seater SUV in Australia today. The new 2017 line up has now been introduced, and a huge mid life update has made this SUV even more desirable. Let’s take a closer look at what’s on offer and remember, Nissan finance is always available to make your future car purchase affordable.
Some Basic Details:
The mid life update has made some significant changes to the lineup, some highlights, include a revised drivetrain, a fresh new look, a new grille, a new front bumper, LED daytime running lights, fresh new taillights, revised headlights, new paint options and a keener pricing structure. The entry level model is the Pathfinder ST, and it’s priced at $41,990 for the front wheel drive variant, rising to $45,490 for the all wheel drive versions. These quoted prices don’t include on roads, but Nissan has the all wheel drive Pathfinder ST listed at $49,797 drive away.
The Entry Level ST:
The Pathfinder ST is well specified for the outlay, with features such as: 7 airbags, an 8” touchscreen, a pair of USB ports, push button start, keyless entry, tinted rear privacy glass, 18” alloy wheels, an electric adjustable drivers seat, three zone climate control, rear parking sensors and a rearview camera.
Sadly, the ST is the only model in the range that doesn’t feature the active safety suite, which features: adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, rear cross traffic alert and an all round view camera system. This cannot be added as an optional extra, and it can only be obtained by choosing the ST-L or Ti variants.
The Choice of Engines:
Sticking with the ST as a baseline, there are a number of different engines available. There is a hybrid powerplant, featuring a 2.5 litre four cylinder supercharged engine. This unit adds $2,500 to the Pathfinder ST 2WD model, if you want this in an all wheel drive configuration, the ST-L at $60,690 is where you can find it.
There is also a 3.5 litre V6 six cylinder powerplant that has had improvements of 12kW and 15Nm over the outgoing model. This brings the power generation up to 202kW and torque to 340Nm in total. When paired with the Continuously Variable Transmission, this engine offers the best combination for those interested in a stronger response and better overall performance.
